We came across Patso Dimitrov’s IG profile where we were intrigued by his designs of classic albums being turned into basketball jersey designs. Patso has taken the likes of Frank Ocean’s classic Channel Orange concept and flipped it into an all-orange basketball jersey that will certainly turn heads to even taking Kehlani’s GRAMMY nominated You Should Be Here cover art and flipping it into a Nike Kyrie 2 shoe design to celebrate their new found love. We decided to get a hold of Patso and learn a little more about the France based artist.
Jay Z has partnered with Barneys for a limited edition clothing line that will feature collaborations from Lanvin, Balenciaga, Balmain, Proenza Schouler, Rick Owens and Moncler. The collection will be available from November 20th to January 2, 2014. A quarter of the proceeds will benefit the Shawn Carter Scholarship Foundation. Here is what Jay had to say about the partnership:
“With this project, Barneys New York and I were able to take the slickness, energy, and innovation of New York City and translate that into quality, timeless pieces. Everything that encompasses ‘A New York Holiday’—the items chosen, the amazing designers that participated, the windows, the design of the BNY SCC Gallery—represents a perfect example of a unique and groundbreaking collaboration that I hope demonstrates how inspiring New York has been to me.”
Take a look at a few of the pieces after the jump and start saving your money now because November 20th will be here before you know it.
