We, like many others, were getting excited to hear Rick Ross’ album Mastermind that was expected to drop December 17th but now we will have to test our patience and wait a little longer. The MMG boss confirmed during a recent interview on Hip-Hop Nation’s with DJ Scream that the release date is no longer a 2013 date and is currently up in the air. Ross said the album has been pushed back for recording purposes and he wants to focus on making it a classic with the final touches currently being done. We can expect to hear it some time during the first quarter of 2014, hopefully sooner than later.

This is absolutely awesome. Jay Z on his 44th birthday posted a picture on his Life + Times site of his solo albums stacked in a particular order. Hov decided to rank his twelve solo albums and give comments on each of the projects. Great to see a rapper be able to be so honest about their own work and mishaps over the years.

The music that I’m making has a serious tone to it and I think that’s the season where people are open to hearing what’s really going on. If I dropped it in the summer time, that’s when people want to have fun, drive around the city, mess with girls. I have some songs like that, but overall, it’s got a serious tone.
