If you remember back in April, Lil Wayne’s tour bus was shot outside of an Atlanta performance. The arrested suspect, Jimmy Carlton Winfrey aka Peewee Roscoe, is an associate of Young Thug’s and has now been sentenced to 10 years in prison and another 10 years of probation for the incident. According to reports Winfrey pled guilty to 6 of the 27 counts in connection to the shooting, which are reportedly all gang-related. Both Birdman and Young Thug still deny having any connections to this incident.
As the legal battle continues between Lil Wayne and Birdman, news comes out now that Birdman is now suing Jay Z and Tidal for streaming Wayne’s Free Weezy Album exclusively on the service. TMZ is reporting that newly filed court documents show that Birdman is going after Jay and Tidal for $50 million, and they maintain that they own all of the exclusive rights to Wayne’s music and that the Tidal stream is illegal. In the lawsuit it is stated that Tidal claims Cash Money doesn’t have that exclusive ownership, and that Wayne gave them the go ahead to exclusively stream his music in return for part ownership in Tidal.
This all comes on top of the news of Birdman and Young Thug being named in the indictment for Lil Wayne’s tour bus shooting incident that claims the two may have conspired to kill Lil Wayne.
